May 2010 - The HELP Act for Haiti: The U.S. House of Representatives and Senate recently passed an extension and enhancement of the Haiti HOPE Act. The initiative, called the Haiti Economic Lift Program (HELP) was crafted in response to the January 2010 earthquake, and Congressional leaders hope the trade benefits will help Haiti create new jobs in the apparel manufacturing industry.
