Ludwika Chrzastowska, Policy Advisor Ludwika Chrzastowska is a policy advisor for Sorini, Samet & Associates, where she provides analysis and advice on legislative procedure, trade negotiations as well as related legislation and policy for our clients. Ms. Chrzastowska also works on international labor and social responsibility issues. Prior to joining SS&A, Ms. Chrzastowska worked with the staff at the Office of Southeast Asia and Pacific Affairs at the United States Trade Representative (USTR). While at the USTR, she supported ongoing negotiations and other regional trade initiatives, including the U.S.-Malaysia Free Trade Agreement (FTA) as well as U.S. Trade and Investment Framework Agreements (TIFAs) with ASEAN, Indonesia, the Philippines, Cambodia, and Vietnam. She also did comparative analysis of U.S. and foreign trade initiatives, analyzed WTO accession and implementation issues, and developed an internal comprehensive matrix of regional intra-Asian trade agreements for the Office. Prior to USTR, Ms. Chrzastowska worked with the staff at the Trade Department at the Delegation for the European Commission in Washington, DC. At the Delegation, Ms. Chrzastowska researched and analyzed U.S. and EU trade-related topics that included free trade agreements, the WTO Doha Round, trade and investment barriers, compliance issues, and the CFIUS process. She worked with EU trade officials on issues pertaining to Asia and Africa as well as analyzed the implications of specific trade policy, legislative, and regulatory initiatives by the U.S. and the EU. She was also responsible for economic sectors that included services, steel, automobiles, and textiles. Ms. Chrzastowska previously worked for the international arm of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) on global energy issues and at the Center for Terrorism, Counter-Terrorism and Homeland Security at the Foreign Policy Research Institute (FPRI). She also studied with Georgetown University in Czech Republic and Hong Kong and attended the Jean Monnet International Summer Program in Italy. She is fluent in Polish and proficient in German. |
