Keith A. Jenkins, Director of Government Affairs Keith Jenkins, an original member of Sorini, Samet & Associates, manages government relations initiatives on behalf of U.S. and foreign trade associations, foreign governments, and multinational corporations. He provides clients with strategic advice and analysis of U.S. legislation, bilateral trade agreements, unilateral preference programs, and multilateral trade negotiations. Mr. Jenkins has led successful legislative initiatives on behalf of major U.S. corporations to break down U.S. tariff barriers on imports that are not domestically produced, and he also has helped expand U.S. market access for developing and least developed countries. Before joining SS&A, Mr. Jenkins worked for the staff of the U.S. House of Representatives' Committee on Ways and Means, Subcommittee on Trade. He was responsible for tracking trade-related legislation in the wake of the failed Dubai Ports World transaction. He also drafted floor statements for the Chairman, regularly briefed Committee Members' legislative staffs, and coordinated witnesses and testimonies in preparation for hearings and mark-ups. He managed a portfolio of trade issues from the Middle East, Latin America, and the former Soviet Union. Prior to working for the U.S. House of Representatives, Mr. Jenkins was graduate consultant on a long-term policy project for the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), Air Support Division. He also was a research and production assistant for CNN's Larry King Live in Los Angeles, CA. He is conversant in Spanish and has lived abroad in the Galapagos, Ecuador and earned degree credit from the University of Sevilla, Spain. |
